The deer fence must be higher than 1.8m but cannot be over 2m. The fence line is expected to follow the general route as indicated in the maps below, but small deviations to allow for ground conditions and siting will be acceptable subject to agreement. At least one access gate per exclosure should be included in the tender. A cost should be given for the option of marking the fence for black grouse. Final route and gate location will be decided by a site visit alongside the RSPB site warden prior to work commencing. Inversnaid is a challenging site to work at and the location is remote, especially so in the case of the north exclosure. The location is difficult, and the ground is uneven and steep in places. It is expected the contractor will have experience of working in upland sites.
