We did some market research and identified three organisation (1) the Association for Project Management (APM), who are the chartered body for the profession, (2) the Project Management Institute, who are the global leading body for project management professionals globally with a strong UK presence, and (3) Axelos, who are the custodians of the Prince 2 framework for project delivery. We contacted all three organisation to check availability and suitability. Unfortunately, APM confirmed in discussions that they were not in a position to deliver any support directly and Axelos did not respond to our request for a proposal. Leaving only one proposal from PMI quoting 10,000 USD (8,150 GBP) for 8 Masterclasses. Whilst we do have a Project Delivery Training Framework in place, the leadership element to the training required for SROs is unlikely to be satisfied by the typical 'training to a standard' that is well provided for under it, we reviewed the content of their bespoke SRO package and we still feel this didn't hit the mark as part of the package of various facilitator this course combined for the senior key individuals involved in our 4Cs work. Given that we have tested the market and invited the critical bodies capable of developing and delivering this training material we wish to award the contract directly to PMI without running a further competition.
