The main outputs of the project will include the following: -Creation of a 50-metre-wide breach in the western embankment surrounding the Baron's Haugh Wetland, set at 23mAOD. -Excavation in raised ground to create new shallow wetland pools in the eastern section of the Baron's Haugh wetland. The combined length of these embankments will be 155 metres and they will be formed using material won on site. -The creation of two islands set within the new wetland pools to create nesting and roosting habitats for wetland birds.
