The DDI programme is the foundation of the University of Edinburgh's participation in the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal funded by UK and Scottish Government. GEMINI+Edinburgh builds on two foundations: the IoT SeNSES network and an existing UK GEMINI project, for which the University of Edinburgh is a lead institutional partner. The unique aim of the project is to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the bounded area of the City of Edinburgh. As such the project represents an anchor project in delivering the DDI Space & Satellite sector plan and supporting the Regional Prosperity Framework Delivery Plan by targeting associated impacts on health, quality of life in Edinburgh and public policy. GEMINI+Edinburgh, within the context of a data science framework, will be designed to deliver timely, accurate public good information about GHG emissions and air pollution for decision makers, educators, and the public.
