The eroded peatland in this area spreads down from the watershed across gently sloping ground. The site is at an altitude of between 720 and 900 metres, with a mosaic of upland bog interspersed with some wet heath and rank grassland communities (M19 blanket mire, M15c and M16d wet heaths, with patches of U6d grassland).",
