The University are working on a project to extend the capacity of the main ISG data centre - The Mary Somerville datacentre at Kings Buildings. This expansion will create the capacity which will allow ISG High Performance Supercomputing (HPC) equipment to be moved from the Advanced Compute Facility at Easter Bush, which is necessary to create the space for the large government investment at the ACF. Due to historic similar requirements, there is an opportunity to expand the existing Kohler hardware. Engaging and working alongside two different suppliers will prove difficult in terms of interoperability or disproportionate technical difficulties in operation and maintenance.",
