People who experience or have experienced domestic abuse, 'honour' based abuse, dowry abuse, forced marriage and/or female genital mutilation (FGM) can receive support from Specialist Support Services. The terminology of BME communities has been superseded by the terminology 'global majority' by Scottish government. For this contract, the terminology BME will continue to be used to reflect that service representation and need for BME communities remains underrepresented within falkirk council and that the population of BME people locally remains a minority and therefore additional consideration is required to be able to adequately meet the needs for these individuals..
