The tender document provides a statement of requirements for a work program to treat 3.5 ha of bare peat within two peatland restoration sites with lime, seed and fertiliser. The project is to be delivered on two estates within the Cairngorms National Park. The work will be delivered by a competent peatland restoration contractor. The two sites have different completion dates, work on Delnadamph Estate is to commence in March with an expected completion date of no later than the 15th of April 2025. For Mar Estate work should commence by April with an end date not later than the end of May 2025. There is a strong possibility due to weather and breeding birds, that Spring work may not be possible and therefore treatment will take place in Autumn 2025 instead. Delnadamph Estate is situated 8km southeast of Tomintoul, the project site the Feithe is located at NJ 194108 and has a site boundary of 192ha. In Spring 2024 an area of c2.5 ha was treated with coir mesh, lime, seed and fertiliser to complement the machine work completed. This area is now requiring its second year of lime and fertiliser to be spread. The Glen Ey White Stone Burn site is situated in Mar Estate, 14km southwest of Braemar. The site covers 107.7ha, with the centre of the site at NO 048882.
