Helicopter lifts of 155 x 750kg stone units (116.25 tonnes in total) and 960m2 of coir mesh will be required. It anticipated that the distance for the helicopter to travel on each flight will be in the region of 2 to 4km. Helicopter flights will have to be scheduled for once it has confirmed that there are no protected breeding bird species constraints (so likely after WC 4th August). Once the stone has been dropped on site, it will need to be formed into required function (dam/baffle/spillway/rock armour by hand).
