Development of a connected visitor journey at the museum's historic core through the provision of public access alongside and ideally within a significant building. c. Enhancing interpretation and learning through the development of displays telling the stories of former workers, the building's history and the energy story. d. Assessing potential events provision and income generation, central to the museum's ongoing sustainability",

"description": "Description The Boiler House at Lady Victoria Colliery is one of the oldest and most significant buildings on the site. Constructed in 1915-1917 the building was originally used for power generation. It was subsequently fitted out with 12 Lancashire Boilers from Gretna Munitions Factory, and remains as one of the few surviving last batteries of boilers of this type in the UK. Steam was the main power source for the colliery, and the survival of the boiler house demonstrates the significance of steam within the context of changes to energy demands and the application of emerging technology. The building is officially designated as At Risk and contained within the listing of Lady Victoria (LB14604). Scope of Works 1. Review existing reports (structural, conservation, business plan, masterplan and past structural concept) 2. Engage with client to evaluate and refine preferred options, considerate of priority works 3. Produce visualisations and base drawings to for design solutions to RIBA Stage 2 4. Collate outline costs according to design options 5. Compile final Viability Study report with options and outline costs.",
