It will build on progress and lessons learnt through the RSPB's Curlew LIFE project which recorded exceptional productivity across the Glenwherry site and a 40% increase in breeding pairs in 2024. As predation is a main driver of low Curlew breeding success, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) wants to commission the services of an appropriately qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the lethal control of foxes in the Glenwherry and Glencloy areas of the Antrim Hills. This activity is to take place over a period of approximately 19 weeks between 17th November 2025 and 31st March 2026, and will complement work to improve habitat quality within the area. The proposed site is approximately 7,500 hectares in size and is under private ownership.",
