Background Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) role is to shape a sustainable and prospering red meat industry in Scotland. In response to demand from Scottish pig producers QMS intend to provide an on-farm production recording package and benchmarking system. The aims of this project are to increase the efficiency of output of red meat production, increase on-farm productivity, profitability and sustainability of both indoor and outdoor pig producers in Scotland. On farm production recording software and benchmarking allows pig producers to improve their productivity through utilisation of weekly data entered which provides various weekly and monthly reports. These reports show areas for improvement and management changes. The anonymous benchmarking element allows producers to see how well they are doing against other producers for all the main Key Performance Indicators used within the industry. Outputs and Deliverables Sow/Weaner Herd data entry and production event reporting functions including management action lists for the breeding herd Weaner/Finisher Herd data entry and production event reporting functions for the Finishing herd Management & Analysis production performance reporting and analysis for the breeding and finishing herds Veterinary functions for recording, monitoring, usage reporting and efficacy analysis for pharmaceutical stocks Benchmarking & Multiple Herd Reporting & Inventory comparative reporting of physical and financial, league tables and stock consolidation and valuation A combination of on farm training provision for individual producers or group training of producers Benchmarking Scottish pig units against comparable systems in other European countries Remote or on-site installation of the system and training of all participants Transfer of data to the QMS Pig Health Database Transfer of slaughter data from Scottish Marketing Groups into individual producer systems Provision of bespoke reports for QMS when required Engagement with Producers and assistance in interpreting and utilising data",
