"description": "NatureScot is considering a future requirement for the provision of evidence based wildfire risk assessment and long term mitigation planning services at Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, located near Kinlochewe in the Highlands of Scotland. Beinn Eighe is of exceptional ecological importance and contains the largest remnant of Caledonian Pinewood in north west Scotland. NatureScot is seeking to adopt a strategic and landscape scale approach to wildfire resilience. The potential requirement is expected to include the assessment of wildfire risk across a range of habitat types, the identification of key environmental parameters, and the development of mitigation options to improve long term resilience. This may also include modelling of wildfire scenarios and field data collection to support analysis. NatureScot is particularly interested in understanding the comparative wildfire resilience of different habitat types and how targeted interventions may reduce the likelihood and spread of wildfire. This Prior Information Notice is issued for information gathering and early market engagement only and does not constitute a call for competition.. NatureScot has developed a supplier questionnaire to support this market engagement exercise.
