## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is currently in the planning stage for the procurement of "Provision of Remotely Piloted Air Systems for LSOC Sites". This initiative aims to utilise drone technology for security enhancements at Logistics Support Operating Centre sites across the UK. The projected value of the contract ranges from £75,000 to £125,000, and it is anticipated that the core delivery, including hardware, will occur by Q3 2022. Key dates include an engagement end date on 10 June 2022 and the tender is initiated for planning purposes.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in technology solutions, particularly those specialising in drone manufacturing, piloting training, and maintenance support services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find this tender especially relevant, as training for up to eight pilots and the potential for additional drone purchases are key aspects of the project. Companies that meet government cyber assurance standards and compliance with specific aviation categorisations will be well-positioned to compete for this contract.

## Notice

Provision of Remotely Piloted Air System for LSOC Sites The Ministry of Defence is intending to introduce the deployment of drone technology for use as a security enhancement across all Logistic Support Operating Centre (LSOC) sites in the UK. The Authority intends to purchase one drone and all associated ancillaries initially, as a security enhancement to assist the guard force capability. It is intended to use a single drone for a period of 6 months with all metrics studied to ensure value for money and fit for purpose. If an initial drone proves successful the Authority may exercise options to provide an additional 3 to 5 x drones to other major LSOC sites. As part of the package training will be required, to incorporate the General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC), and A2 Certificate of Competency (CofC) for 8 x pilots at the time of purchase of the drone. There will be an enduring requirement for further training if the options are taken up to purchase further drones. Maintenance and support arrangements will be required to ensure the capability always remains serviceable and operational. Note: The value of the contract is anticipated to be in the region of PS75,000 to PS125,000 in the event that the options to purchase additional drones and associated training and support are exercised. Duration: Delivery of the Core requirement, including hardware and associated documentation by indicative Q3 2022, with renewable maintenance contracts. Approved Drones. The RPAS system will need to meet the Government's cyber assurance criteria, and be compliant with both RA 1600 Open A2 and S1 categorisation. The evaluation criterion for this requirement is Most Economically Advantageous to Tender (MEAT).
