## Summary

The Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is seeking tenders for the "Generic Housing Related Floating Support Service for Adults 25+" with a procurement method classified as an open procedure. The tender is currently active and is expected to close on 14 December 2021. This service will commence on 1 April 2022 and run until 30 March 2023, focusing on providing support to adults aged 25 and older within Solihull, West Midlands, UK. The project involves an estimated contract value of £100,000, with a minimum contract value of £50.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses in the housing services sector, particularly those with expertise in providing support services to adults. Companies specialising in housing support, social care, or community-based services would be ideally positioned to compete for this contract. The structured approach to floating support outlined in the associated council strategies may foster innovative service delivery models, supporting business growth and expanding market reach within the local government contracting landscape.

## Notice

The Housing Related Floating Support Service was previously part a wider Supporting People Programme delivered through Adult Social Care & Support (ASC). In April 2018 the service was split - the disability services remained with ASC, but the homeless support services moved to sit with the housing commissioning function in Economy & Infrastructure (E&I). The existing provider for the contract 'Bromford' has served notice of their intention to exit from specialist Housing Related Support Services and will not take part in any competitive tendering process for the Floating Support Service after the current contract ends on 31st March 2021. The Housing Related Floating Support Service is currently available for clients aged 18+ and sits alongside a Supported Accommodation Scheme for Young Families. Several changes will come into effect from 1st April 2022 when the homeless support service will split into the following distinct strands: 1) A Supported Accommodation Scheme for Young Families 18-25 and floating support for young families up to the age of 25 2) A Housing Related Floating Support Service for Adults 25+ SMBC is looking to contract a provider to deliver the 'Housing Related Floating Support Service for Adults 25+' only. All other services will be procured independently. Solihull's Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy (2020-2023) outlines a series of measures designed to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping in Solihull. One of the key measures identified is to provide suitable floating support options to ensure smooth transition of individuals into their own tenancies and a phased withdrawal to increase the likelihood of tenancy sustainment.
