## Summary

The NHS South West Commissioning Support Unit is conducting a procurement process for the provision of Gender Dysphoria Surgical Services for NHS England, NHS Scotland, and NHS Wales. This initiative aims to enhance the availability of surgical interventions, including chest and genital surgeries, for individuals with gender dysphoria. The contract, which is anticipated to last for an initial term of five years with potential extension up to two years, is valued at approximately £107 million. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, with the tender period closing on 30th July 2019.

This tender presents significant opportunities for healthcare providers specialising in surgical services to expand their operations within the NHS framework. Businesses that are equipped to provide gender-affirming surgeries and possess the necessary accreditation will be particularly well-placed to compete for this contract. Given the focus on patient choice and quality of care, companies that emphasise innovative surgical practices and have a keen understanding of the specific needs of the transgender community will likely find a competitive edge in this procurement process.
