## Summary

The National Museum of the Royal Navy has awarded NIC Services Group Limited a contract for the provision of cleaning services at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Ilchester, England. The contract encompasses regular daily invasive cleaning of the museum's toilet and washroom accommodations, as well as basic daily housekeeping such as emptying internal and external bins. The procurement process followed an open procedure, and the award value is £52,389. The contract period is set from 1st July 2024 to 1st July 2027. The procurement was classified under the industry categories "Cleaning and sanitation services," with specific CPV codes of 90900000, 90910000, and 90920000. The procurement control was under the National Museum of the Royal Navy, with key contacts and clarifications handled by Dave Hartley.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses in the cleaning sector, particularly those specialised in institutional and facility-related cleaning services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would find this tender highly advantageous due to its open procedure and suitability criteria that accommodate smaller business entities. The awarded contract can help businesses grow by establishing a long-term relationship with a prestigious public sector organisation, thereby enhancing their portfolio and credibility in the industry. The location in the South West of England also offers regional businesses a competitive edge in logistics and operational efficiency.

## Notice

The Fleet Air Arm Museum (FAAM) is looking to appoint a contractor to undertake regular daily invasive cleaning of the Museum's toilet and washroom accommodation, as well as perform basic daily housekeeping such as emptying both internal and external bins. Tenderers will be aware of the issues surrounding the application of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 ("TUPE") and the European Acquired Rights Directive 77/187 ("the Directive"), to the competitive tendering process. Having made careful consideration of the potential contract in question, the National Museum's view is that TUPE and the Directive will apply to this contract. The Museum is subject to an existing contract which is serviced by 17.5 hours a week as standard. The existing contractor has three operatives working 12.5 hours, 3.75 hours and 1.25 hours respectively to service this provision. Full Specifications can be found within Annex A. There is an opportunity to conduct site visits which must be arranged with the General Manager of the Fleet Air Arm Museum which can be found within the tender documentation. Clarifications must be sent to tenders@nrmn.org.uk
