The film will cover the learning outcomes outlined below and be easily accessible for residents and professionals living or working in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire via the suicide prevention and self-harm awareness pages of the Nottinghamshire County Council website and any other websites as agreed by the commissioners. The film will aim to: - Provide entry-level, foundational knowledge and awareness of the topics of self-harm and suicide bereavement. - Provide an awareness of the magnitude in the local context (including prevalence numbers and statistics) - Understand and reduce the stigma and discrimination (including the role of language in perpetuating stigma) - Increase knowledge of types of support and where to access information on local services. - Support individuals to recognise and understand their own emotions. - Empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to support their own mental wellbeing as well as others. - Increase confidence of individuals to initiate conversations on self-harm and bereavement by suicide and to ask for help. - Understand the links between mental health, self-harm and suicide.
