## Summary

Leicestershire County Council recently concluded the award stage of a public procurement process, titled "Supply, installation, back-office support and maintenance of electric vehicle charge points at Leicestershire County Council sites." This contract involves providing essential infrastructure to support the Council's initiative to incorporate electric vehicles within their fleet, aiming for financial savings and environmental benefits. The project is classified under the Construction industry category, with work planned across three key sites in England, United Kingdom. The competitive process concluded with an award to Metric Services (Leicester) Ltd, and the contract period is set from 5 January 2026 to 4 January 2028. The tender originated from a further competition via the CCS RM6213 Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Solutions DPS framework.

This procurement presents notable opportunities for businesses involved in construction and infrastructure development, particularly those specialising in electric vehicle systems. Small and medium-sized enterprises may find it challenging due to the scale, but it is well-suited for companies capable of providing comprehensive solutions for electric vehicle infrastructure. Successfully bidding on such procurements can lead to long-term partnerships and recognition within the public sector. Businesses looking to establish or expand their portfolio in sustainable technology and government contracts would especially benefit from competing in similar opportunities.

## Notice

Leicestershire County Council (LCC) is seeking to electrify its fleet of vehicles to realise financial, air quality and environmental benefits. To kick start this process, LCC intends to launch a pilot scheme that will see a small number of fleet electric vehicles (EV) operating from LCC depots and sites. In support of the pilot, LCC require the installation of a number of new EV charge points (EVCP) at three key sites spread across the county. The intention is that these charge points would be for use by fleet vehicles only and would not be available for staff or visitor EVs. Due to requirements including maintenance involved, this is intended to be a 2 year contract with further extensions available for upto a further 24 months.
