## Summary

The National Portrait Gallery (NPG) in London is conducting a procurement process for conservation works as part of its major capital project, the Inspiring People project. The tender, titled "GB-London: Conservation Works", has a minimum value of £50,000 and a maximum value of £100,000. The open tender period is active, with submissions due by midday on 7th August 2020. The project aims at significant refurbishment and re-display of the gallery, including local stone cleaning trials and the dismantling of a memorial statue for later re-erection. The contract will be awarded based on set selection criteria.

This tender presents growth opportunities particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in stonework and conservation. Businesses in the construction, heritage, and restoration sectors would be well-positioned to compete, given the nature of the work involved. The gallery’s initiative to increase public access and enhance visitor experience further opens avenues for companies focused on delivering quality craftsmanship and innovative solutions in heritage conservation.
