## Summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has successfully completed a tender process for the provision of a GP Decision Support Tool Evaluation. The procurement, classified under the healthcare services industry, took place in London and utilised a selective method, specifically a restricted procedure. The tender was initiated on 12 April 2021, with the contract period beginning on 3 February 2021 and concluding on 30 April 2021. The total contract value was £49,800, and the evaluation aimed to assess the impact of the GP tool being piloted as part of the RM Partners Cancer Transformation Programme. The procurement period ended on 29 December 2020, with the evaluation being critical for potential long-term funding decisions.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for consultancies with expertise in healthcare evaluations, particularly in the development of decision support tools. Businesses specialising in assessment and consultancy services within the healthcare domain would be well-suited to compete for future projects of this nature. The focus on delivering impactful evaluations aligns with the broader objectives of improving cancer diagnosis rates, ultimately enhancing business prospects for those involved in healthcare consultancy and software solutions.

## Notice

GPs across the NWL and SWL sectors are piloting a GP decision support tool as part of the RM Partners (RMP) Cancer Transformation Program. This program aims to deliver the earlier diagnosis objective set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, to diagnose 75% of cancers at stages one or two by 2028.The Royal Marsden NHS Trust wishes to commission an independent consultancy to produce a summative evaluation of the existing GP decision support tool to determine its full impact. Furthermore, this summative evaluation will provide necessary evidence to support the decision to approve long-term funding. The market was reviewed, and the following consultancies were approached for competitive quotes via the e-procurement portal Due North. 1. Frontier Economics 2. Public Sector Consultants 3. University College London Hospitals However, only one formal quote was submitted by Frontier Economics. The remaining consultancies opted out of the tender as they were unable to meet the trust's requirements. Although only one supplier submitted a bid, a full combined evaluation of the supplier's submission still took place to ensure the Trust's requirements would be met.
