Our state of the art facilities allow materials discovery, materials manufacturing and prototype production and will act as an open access centre of excellence for the UK. With funding from EPSRC we seek to purchase a hybrid-hot press/SPS for the consolidation of various powdery raw materials by combined uniaxial pressing force and heating in vacuum or inert atmosphere. Typical material types to be processed in the SPS include ceramics, metals, hard alloys, nanomaterials, functionally graded materials etc. This is an open FTS exercise.
