## Summary

The procurement process led by the MHRA Buyer Organisation pertains to the acquisition of a Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) machine, classified under the industry category of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) equipment. The tender is currently in the award stage, with a budget of £25,000, inclusive of VAT. The contract period is scheduled to commence on 15th January 2021 and will run until 15th January 2027. The successful supplier for this tender is Agilent Technologies LDA UK Ltd, and the relevant delivery location for the equipment is in London, UK. The tender employed an open procurement method and was initiated with the intention of enhancing laboratory capabilities with new equipment.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in laboratory equipment, advanced manufacturing, or technology solutions tailored for the scientific sector. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can demonstrate competence in producing or supplying high-quality PCR machines and related software would be well-suited to compete in future similar tenders. Engaging in such contracts can enhance business growth by establishing long-term partnerships with government agencies and expanding market reach within the UK healthcare and research sectors.

## Notice

The agency is looking to purchase a QPCR machine which has a 96 well plate format, it must be able to run 20 ul and 50 ul reaction volumes. It must have 5 colour filters for multiplexing an LED light source. The equipment must be self-diagnostics for identifying faults and able to be networked to the institutes IT system. The equipment must have a footprint no deeper than 54cm to fit onto a bench. It must also have an integrated touchscreen, the ability to store data from a few runs and allow use of researcher defined reagents and thermoprofiles and protocol editing. The machine must also allow analysis of data by Second Derivative Max and Fit Points method and be compliant for audit trail of data for 17025. The machine must be windows 10 compatible and have software available for data analysis in the office. We may need an additional 8 software licenses so the cost of these must be competitive. We would require a service/repair agreement that DOES NOT involve having to send the machine off site for repair or service. The budget is PS25,000 (Inc VAT). As stated under ITT_4370, the Agency is buying a second qPCR machine.
