## Summary

The NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is procuring services to improve access to psychological therapy for the population of NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The contracting process reached the award stage on 17th March 2023, with a total contract value of £97,070,000 in GBP. The contract period is set to commence on 1st April 2023 and will run for a duration of 5 years. The procurement method used was an open procedure with the tender period closing on 20th September 2022. The buying organisation is seeking a provider to deliver IAPT services in line with national guidance, aiming to focus on prevention, early identification, and integration with physical health pathways.

This tender presents an opportunity for health service providers to collaborate or offer a single solution to deliver IAPT services in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom. Businesses that can offer personalised and outcome-focused psychological therapies, integrate with various healthcare partners, and deploy services through different settings like GP practices, community venues, and online platforms would be well-suited to compete. The focus is on meeting the needs of ethnic minority communities, older adults, and students, while also ensuring easy access, prevention-oriented interventions, and support for self-management and independence for patients.

## Notice

NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS AGEM CSU) on behalf of NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB are inviting suitably qualified providers to deliver Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services for the population of NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. With the exit of our local NHS provider from the provision of IAPT services, commissioners will be looking for a single solution for the future provision across the newly formed ICB patch for a period of 5 years. That single solution may be a single provider option, a lead provider or a collaboration which needs to deliver services in line with National guidance as the IAPT programme remains high on the political agenda with ICBs being performance managed on access and recovery targets at regional and national level. Aims of the service * To ensure a local focus, as well as meeting the needs of the local population including ethnic minority communities, older adults, and students. * Services will be easy to access with few points of escalation * Focus on prevention and early identification, targeting interventions at risk groups. * To integrate psychological therapies into physical health and long-term condition pathways. * To provide a perinatal pathway for patients under the care of midwives and health visitors * Services will be personalised and outcome focussed recognising the service users own strengths, needs, life experiences, beliefs, aspirations and support networks. * Patients will be supported back to self-management and independence, wherever possible. * The service will actively integrate with partners at system, place and neighbourhood level, delivering care in a range of settings and modes including Locality Hubs, GP Practices, health centres, community venues and the patient's own home, both face to face and via online mechanisms and telephone. Care location and mode will be based on the needs of the patient and available service offer. * To make best use of available technology and digital options for service promotion, referral pathways and delivery of interventions.
