Originally built in 1840, the building was extended in 1870 and 1903-8 to its current structural layout and forms in an L shape. The ground floor of this building has some public access. Historic England requires a Facilities Management Contractor to deliver the following at all times: o Buildings that are compliant, safe and secure o Provide a single point of contact for all FM related faults, issues and requests for service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year o Ensure the effective operation of the critical plant in the Archive building to achieve strict environmental conditions o Well presented, clean, comfortable and fully functioning facilities for customers and visitors.
