## Summary

The procurement process for the "A62 Cooper Bridge" project has been completed under the management of Kirklees Council, with support from Calderdale Council for certain boundary-related aspects. The contract has been awarded to Solmek Ltd for ground investigation services required for the improvement scheme. This construction consultancy initiative, classified under CPV code 71530000, is located within the Yorkshire and the Humber region. The procurement was carried out through a selective method, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement. The tender period concluded on 21 October 2025, with the contract period set from 5 January 2026 to 9 March 2026. The entire project was valued at £51,880 GBP.

This procurement provides growth opportunities in the construction consultancy sector, particularly benefiting SMEs, as indicated by the suitability criteria of the tender. Businesses specialising in geotechnical services, environmental management, and access solutions might find the project valuable, given its focus on ground investigations and improvements within sensitive areas. The project also entails negotiations and access arrangements, suggesting opportunities for companies with expertise in regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement. As contracts of this nature often lead to further projects, participation can help firms establish a foothold or expand their portfolio in public infrastructure ventures.
