## Summary

The procurement process involves the Defra Network eTendering Portal seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Manager for the delivery of new Border Control Points (BCPs) in response to increased biosecurity checks from the EU beginning July 2021. The procurement method is selective, being a call-off from a framework agreement. This contract is valued at £200,770 and is classified under consultancy services related to infrastructure works. The tender period concluded on 22 January 2021, while the contract is set to commence on 22 February 2021 and run until 31 March 2022, with activities taking place across various delivery addresses including the United Kingdom and overseas territories.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those in civil engineering and infrastructure consultancy, which are well-positioned to manage the technical and operational challenges of the project. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) may find this tender particularly beneficial, as they can leverage their expertise in a highly visible public sector environment. Competing firms will need to demonstrate experience in managing contractors, supporting site operations, and resolving technical issues effectively.

## Notice

The Infrastructure Delivery programme plans and delivers new Border Control Points (BCPs), which are physical buildings in which veterinary and plant health professionals check imported animals, plants and food products to ensure biosecurity compliance. Defra needs more of these because we will need to check animals, plants and food products from the EU from July 2021 You will work with contractors and infrastructure colleagues in other government departments on a range of technical deliverables and would be likely to have a civil engineering or similar technical background. The range of activities could include delivery management through contractors, technical solutioning to emerging issues, support to site operations procurement, on-site test and operationalisation; all of this is in a fast paced, highly visible public and political environment, with sensitive local planning considerations. We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a similar environment. Additional information: Please note that Defra procurement uses an E-tendering system for Procurement activities. This is currently provided by Bravo Solutions. To access appropriate tendering and contractual documents, please access the E-Tendering portal at https://defra.bravosolution.co.uk", ensuring that your registration includes "Defra". If you have any problems with this system, please contact Bravo on their telephone helpline number 0800 368 4850 or by emailing them at help@bravosolution.co.uk.
