The tender represents a significant business growth opportunity for those specialising in art restoration services. ## Notice Conservation of eight major pieces of artwork of national significance. * All require examination, but required work could include: * Onsite visit to inspect artwork (Essential prior to quotes being submitted) * Surface cleaning to remove ingrained dirt. * Removal of patchy varnish and poor-quality retouching * Removal of heavy, glossy varnish. * Make good old repair works. * Removal of leaching and treatment in those areas, followed by retouching previous damage as necessary. * May require varnishing with a non-yellowing varnish for future protection. * Each frame will require cleaning. * Some frames will require replacement of lost plaster work. * Canvas retention.
