## Summary

The London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking proposals for the "Hillingdon Station Cycle Parking" project aimed at enhancing cycle parking facilities due to anticipated increased demand and security concerns related to bicycle theft. This tender, classified under "Parts and accessories for bicycles" and "Installation of street furniture," was awarded on 11th January 2017 and involved a total value of £7,735. The project is part of the works category, with the contract period spanning from 1st March 2017 to 31st October 2017. Interested parties were required to submit their tenders by the deadline on 21st December 2016.

This procurement opportunity could enable businesses, particularly those specialising in bicycle accessories, cycle parking solutions, or urban infrastructure, to significantly expand their market presence. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, drawing on their capacity to meet technical requirements and project specifications set by the council, while potentially benefiting from long-term partnerships within the community.

## Notice

The existing cycle parking facilities at the entrance to the Hillingdon Underground Station are limited in number and will not satisfy the projected increase in demand from users in the coming years. There is also a concern, reflecting the national increase in incidents of bicycle theft, as to the security provided by the existing facilities. The London Borough of Hillingdon is aware of these issues and proposes to provide the maximum possible parking facilities in a phased manner as well as the best possible security by the installation of sheltered double tier cycle racks and BTP CaMden type stands. The map attached shows the location of the proposed facilities. In order to deliver these improvements for residents and other users, the Council invites quotations for these works from organisations with appropriate experience, capabilities and financial standing based upon the following technical requirements. The Council seeks to maximise the parking facilities for the available space subject always to best practice and the requirements set out by Transport for London and seeks recommendations from those organisations responding to its RFQ. ****Please register/log in at www.capitalesourcing.com to view all tender information/documents**** Any questions about this procurement should be submitted in writing via the capitalEsourcing Portal. A Tenderer's queries will be secure and cannot be seen by any other Tenderers. The Authority will publish the questions and the response, in a suitably anonymous form, via the Messages tool to all Tenderers before the closing date for the submission of Tenders.
