## Summary

The University of Exeter is currently seeking tenders for "The Provision of a Human Whole Genome Sequencing Service," aimed at providing a high-coverage sequencing service for samples from its Beta-Cell biobank. This tender is classified under research laboratory services, and the procurement process is an open procedure. The tender period is set to conclude on 15th December 2017, followed by the expected contract period starting on 16th December 2017 and lasting until 17th December 2017. The service will be delivered in the South West region of the United Kingdom.

This opportunity presents significant potential for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in genomic sequencing technologies and bioinformatics. Companies that can leverage Illumina Sequencing Technology or demonstrate equivalent outcomes with alternative technologies would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Furthermore, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, which could enhance their market visibility and foster new partnerships within the research and healthcare sectors.

## Notice

2.1 To provide a Human Whole Genome Sequencing service at least 30X average coverage. Using the University's preferred Illumina Sequencing Technology because of the established bioinformatics and analysis pipelines. Bidders using alternative technology must provide assurances that equivalent results/data will be produced. The samples are from our Beta-Cell biobank of patients with suspected monogenic diabetes or hyperinsulinism. The University expects to provide between 100 and 200 samples per annum.
