## Summary

Birmingham City Council is conducting a tender titled "Assessing the Impact of the Well-Being Service on Community Cohesion in Birmingham" aimed at developing a community cohesion strategy. This initiative falls under the services category, particularly focusing on physical well-being services, and is situated in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. The tender is currently in the active stage, with a submission deadline set for 24 April 2017. The anticipated project will span approximately nine months, commencing on 22 May 2017 and concluding on 28 February 2018. The procurement method employed for this process is an open procedure, requiring interested parties to register on the Council's e-tendering platform, In-tend.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses focusing on consultancy in community services, particularly those with expertise in social cohesion and well-being strategies. Companies that can provide project management consultancy services, community health services, or innovative approaches to engaging diverse community segments would be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, as Birmingham has a rich cultural diversity, local businesses with an understanding of the community dynamics and stakeholder engagement may find this procurement particularly relevant for expanding their services and impact.

## Notice

Birmingham City Council is in the process of developing a "community cohesion" strategy. This is being led by the City Council Deputy Chief Executive. Cohesion is a significant agenda for local government and in Birmingham with over 20 different first languages being spoken, over a 1/3 of the population being non-white, and a rich diversity of cultures and ethnicities, creating communities that engage, interact, feel safe and value their social space is important. It focuses on providing wellbeing services to the most vulnerable, deprived and under-represented sections of the community. It sees "well-being" in its widest sense and strongly adheres to the principles of the 5 ways to well-being as well as working on an emerging programme of 'active citizenship' in the widest sense.[1] The purpose of this study is ultimately to assess the impact of the Birmingham Well-Being Service on community cohesion outcomes. An initial priority for the work will be to consult with key stakeholders and commissioners to identify how they define community cohesion and specifically what types of cohesion outcomes and impact they would most value. Birmingham City Council will provide dedicated project manager support for this piece of work. This individual will be the key client link for the successful research team. Through the above, Birmingham City Council will be able to arrange interviews with key personnel and community participants for the research team as well as book rooms and co-ordinate logistics. Birmingham City has a range of data sources available including: Birmingham Wellbeing Service has a Single Customer View (SCV) of all available service data that we can use to understand more about how citizens engage with the Wellbeing Service. We update this SCV with live data on a monthly basis to keep it current. This is overlaid with additional information including social sentiment analysis. This provides us with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Platform and customer insight base which enables us to develop practical customer engagement strategies and plans and gives us the ability to work across multiple channels, including email and mobile. It gives us a SCV which records every action of every customer in one place (activity, communications, survey data, etc.). We anticipate this work being delivered over a 9 month period. BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
