This service is tendered in partnership with NHS Tower Hamlets Integrated Care Board THICB to promote recovery outcome focused Independent Mental Health Advocacy IMHA service to meet the Council statutory duties under 43 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 by making independent mental health advocates available to support qualifying patients in accordance with section 130A of the Mental Health Act as amended In addition to statutory advocacy, the service delivery will also include a non statutory, inclusive mental health advocacy service MHAS for people with mental ill health in Tower Hamlets. The appointed provider will be expected to deliver the following services Supporting qualifying patients to access information and to better understand what is happening to them. Supporting qualifying patients to explore options and to engage with decision making about their care and treatment. Supporting qualifying patients to articulate their own views. Speaking on the qualifying patients behalf, as instructed by them, and representing them when requested. Accessing records relating to the qualifying patients detention, treatment or aftercare.
