## Summary

West Northamptonshire Council has awarded a contract to CHAR.GY LIMITED to supply, install, maintain, and operate electric vehicle charge points across the East Midlands, UK. This procurement, classified under "Electricity, heating, solar and nuclear energy" with additional classifications in electric vehicles and related services, is in the award stage following a selective competitive dialogue process. The contract, valued at £7,000,000, commenced in July 2026 and is scheduled to run until June 2041. The contract represents the Council's commitment to transitioning towards a sustainable low carbon economy, supported by a capital funding of £2,853,000 from the Government's LEVI scheme. Key dates included the original tender return deadline of March 17, 2025, with the award being published at the end of June 2026.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses operating in the electric vehicle infrastructure market, particularly those capable of offering integrated, customer-friendly charging solutions. Businesses that specialise in installation services of electrical equipment and have a proven track record in the sector would find this contract particularly appealing. Given the Council's requirement for the service provider to include substantial co-investment, amounting to a minimum of £4.2 million, the opportunity is best suited for companies with the financial capacity to partner in the long term development of a public EV charging network. The ongoing competitive dialogue process allows for innovative solutions that align with the Council’s strategic objectives, providing growth potential for forward-thinking enterprises.
