## Summary

The Training and Simulation Systems Programme (TSSP) within the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) is conducting a tender for an "Indirect Fires Simulation (IDFS)" project. This procurement, classified under the industry category of training and simulation in military electronic systems, has a minimum contract value of £15 million and a potential maximum value of £50 million. The tender is currently active, with submissions due by 14 October 2020, and the contract period is set to commence on 4 January 2022 and conclude on 2 January 2032. The delivery addresses range across various territories, including the UK and European regions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for companies involved in military training simulation services, particularly those with expertise in developing immersive training solutions. Businesses engaged in military technology, systems integration, and training software development would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The authority may consider further batches of items as part of the Terms and Conditions, which could lead to additional revenue opportunities for successful bidders.

## Notice

Initial procurement and support of qty 12 of 81mm mortar and qty 12 of 105mm Light Gun instrumentation systems to produce a realistic simulated firing solution, fall of shot and effect within a simulated environment and able to be integrated with other in-service live simulation systems (SCOPIC, Joint Fires Synthetic Training (JFST) and Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES)). The Single Statement of User Need (SSUN) is: the user requires a realistic and immersive IDFS capability to support delivery of Fires training for Individual, Trade, and Collective Training and support assessment and validation of training competency with objective data on individual, crew and team performance. The Authority may wish to order further batches of the items, if so these will be captured as part of the Terms and Conditions as contractual Options should it decide to compete the requirement. Noting that further orders may increase the value to circa PS50M.
