## Summary

The procurement process involves SE Shared Services as the buying organisation, focused on the project titled "ESCC - RFQ - SW - Library Furniture at Eastbourne Library." This initiative falls under the goods category, specifically aiming to enhance the Eastbourne Library located in the South East of the United Kingdom, which receives approximately 20,000 visitors each month. The contract period commences on 18th February 2019 and concludes on 31st August 2019, following a competitive tendering process that ended on 6th February 2019. The total project budget is set at £90,000, facilitating various upgrades within the library to accommodate changing customer needs.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in library furniture, electronic information services, and computer equipment, to engage with a public sector project that emphasizes community enhancement. Suppliers capable of offering innovative display solutions and flexible furniture designs would be particularly well-suited to compete. The competitive nature of the scoring process on price also indicates a favourable environment for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their offerings in a growing market.

## Notice

Eastbourne Library is situated on Grove Road near the train station and centre of the town. It is the busiest library in the county, receiving almost 20,000 visits per month. The library building consists of a basement, ground floor, mezzanine and first floor with mixed usage throughout providing stock to browse and borrow, reading and study space, free public computers, office space and staff welfare facilities. As usage is changing each library needs reshaping to ensure it meets the needs of customers now and into the future. We are seeing more customers that require study space (with or without electronic devices), consistent usage of the public computers and a need for more flexible use of the Library space in general (i.e. groups wishing to use the space). In this project we will: o Create a dedicated Learning and Information Centre on the first floor o Create a dedicated children's area on the ground floor o Upgrade the mezzanine o Install display equipment and furniture throughout to provide new services o Redesign of newspaper area, including furniture for study, relaxation, display and shelving The works will take place in April and May 2019. While partial closures will be possible there will be no full closures to the Library. The opening hours can be found on our website. The budget for the project is ?90,000, submissions will be scored competitively on price.
