## Summary

Reading Borough Council is initiating a tender for the "Adult Social Care and Health Policies and Practice Guides Project" aimed at refreshing policies and practice guidelines for its Directorate of Adult Social Care & Health (DASCH). The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a tender submission deadline set for 23rd March 2020. The project falls under the health and social work services category and will be based in Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. The contract period is expected to begin on 4th May 2020 and conclude on 2nd November 2020, with an estimated value between £30,000 and £50,000.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for experienced providers in the health and social care sector, especially those specialising in policy development and staff training. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-placed to compete, as the council is interested in engaging organisations that can bring innovative and accessible solutions to enhance adult social care practices. Businesses that can navigate local regulations and deliver tailored policies and guides will find this to be a beneficial venture for growth.

## Notice

Reading Borough Council is looking to work with a suitable provider to refresh (and in some cases write) the Council's Directorate of Adult Social Care & Health (DASCH) policies and staff practice guides. The aim is to ensure that they are clear, informative and accessible whilst setting clear expectations of working practices for adult social care staff at all levels from senior managers to operational and business support staff. The Council wishes to gain the potential interest of experienced providers to deliver a refreshed suite of policies and staff practice guides for Adult Social Care & Health staff. The scope of the work is to review and develop the following: o Policies Overarching policies (documents that provide staff with the framework to meet statutory and legal requirements. E.g. Safeguarding, Finance and Moving & Handling) and o Practice Guides Practice guidelines (guidance that is sometimes called protocols / guides / frameworks / templates / forms or checklists). They cover work undertaken by certain staff or teams. Often it is the 'translation' of a policy or procedure into local language and within local workflows.
