  1 MWD Regt currently house approximately 140 Military Working Dogs (MWDs) at the St George's Barracks Rutland. The Regimental Veterinary Clinic is responsible for routine clinical care. Diagnostic samples are often required be collected and processed to diagnose certain health conditions or as routine screening tests to identify presence or absence of infectious disease. The in-house diagnostic analysis machines can only process a limited number of different tests. The clinic frequently require additional samples to be sent to external laboratories for analysis.
