## Notice

This contract is for testing, servicing and maintenance of the Trust's existing Gent closed protocol fire alarm system (The Services) as required by relevant legislation and guidance. The term of the contract is 6 months with the option to extend for a further 24 months. This extension shall take the form of two 12 month incremental periods. The Trust requires servicing and maintenance shall be undertaken on a quarterly basis. For large premises, a quarterly service is typically recommended. This is due to the high volume of components which proportionally represents a higher risk of failure. The purpose of the testing is ensure the fire alarm is in working order and identify any issues. Each detection/call point at the City Hospital is tested once annually. Testing is limited to different areas of the campus, with each area being tested each month to enable efficient delivery of the Services and minimise disruption by working around the various clinical teams Due to the size and complexity of the system, the testing takes two days per week to complete. The contract has been awarded via Direct Award under Lot 8.2 (Fire Safety Equipment & Maintenance) of the NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) Hard FM 2 Framework: https://www.sbs.nhs.uk/fas-hard-facilities-management
