The Council uses its powers for land drainage, flood risk management and environmental enhancement purposes. Routine maintenance activities include flail mowing, aquatic weed-cutting, de-silting and spoil spreading along the awards. Some tree maintenance, debris/obstruction clearance and minor repairs/improvements to banks and structures are also undertaken. The Council wishes to acquire a second hand/ex demo or a new tractor for use with the Councils Flail Mower (details in the tender documents). The tractor and mower, as a unit, must be compliant with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). Additionally, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) guidance on roadworthiness standards must also be adhered to.
