A total of 15,178 full-time students are currently studying at the University, 12,118 undergraduates and 3,060 postgraduates. Of these 3,822 are non-UK students from more than 100 countries worldwide. The University employs approximately 3,500 staff, a third of whom work part-time. More than 1,500 staff are academic (including 370 researchers) and the rest are administrative, technical or general staff. Founded in 1963 and located on a single campus (the "Campus") on the western fringe of Norwich, the University is ranked as one of the United Kingdom's foremost higher education and research institutions enjoying an international reputation for excellence in many of its disciplines. As a consequence of its reputation, the University continues to grow. The University's academic record is matched by its fine campus. Laid out to a Master Plan by Sir Denys Lasdun, many of the early buildings were designed by him.
