DBB seeks to develop the next generation of standards (known as BIM Level 3) which aims to further improve efficiency by providing a more advanced data infrastructure, better management of transactions and the inclusion of performance information from sensors to optimise not only the delivery of the asset, but its operation and functional performance. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. BIMs are files (often but not always in proprietary formats and containing proprietary data) which can be extracted, exchanged or networked to support decision-making regarding a building or other built asset. Current BIM software is used by individuals, businesses and government agencies who plan, design, construct, operate and maintain diverse physical infrastructures, such as water, refuse, electricity, gas, communication utilities, roads, bridges, ports, tunnels, etc. The successful supplier will provide BIM technical programme management and insight consultancy services, responsible to the client team for managing the day-to-day activities in fulfilment of the objectives and achievement of the programme vision, timescales and budget with the necessary support assistance. The services will provide market and BIM expertise, formation of the Client Group and Extended Client Group, coordinate research activities and manage the dissemination of findings.
