## Summary

The Department for Transport (DfT) has completed a procurement process for a contract titled "Specialised IT/software - Workplace Adjustments". The procurement method employed was selective, through a call-off from a framework agreement. The contract, valued at £30,000, was initiated to secure specialised software and equipment necessary for conducting workstation assessments in accordance with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. The contract period runs from 24 March 2020 to 24 August 2020, with key dates including the contract award issued on 24 March 2020 and the deadline for the tender phase which ended on 17 March 2020. The procurement primarily falls within the services industry, specifically under the category of research and development services and related consultancy services. The location for service delivery is within England, United Kingdom.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses specialising in the provision of IT and software solutions that aid in workplace adjustments and ergonomic evaluations. Companies that manufacture or supply dictation software, assistive technology, or similar services would be particularly well-suited to compete in this tender. The requirement underscores a commitment to meeting legal obligations while also opening avenues for innovative solutions in fostering a more adaptable working environment, which can significantly contribute to business growth in this specialised sector.

## Notice

In order for DfT to meet our legal requirements under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, we are required to conduct workstation assessments for each desk/user, and provide adjustments as required to individual users. For some users, this includes the provision of specialised software/technology. These assessments have historically been paid for by GPC. However, this is not permitted under DfT buying rules, given the large amount of spend involved (c. PS60,000/year). As such, we are looking to put a contract in place. We plan to go out to market for this requirement. However, due to our legal obligation to provide these assessments and adjustments, we need to put in a short term contract to cover period of the tender process. This could be done with our existing supplier, The Speech Centre. Our needs include: Livescribe equipment, Dictation software and headset, any associated training
