The system should be capable of capturing and containing both high and low viscosity oils. The Oil Recovery and Containment System will be part of the MCA's stockpile of Counter Pollution Equipment and will be used, in the event of a major marine oil spill, for the recovery of oil spilled into the seas around the UK.
