## Summary

Wigan Council has completed the award stage of a framework agreement for Minor Highway Repairs and Housing Footpath & Driveway Repairs, spanning from 2025 to 2027 and possibly extending until 2029. This contract is specifically for works within the North West region of the United Kingdom, focusing on roadworks including drainage and surface works. The framework consists of two lots: Lot 1 covering minor highway repairs and Lot 2 addressing housing footpath and driveway repairs. Each lot will enlist up to three providers, with ISM Construction Ltd and Mac Groundwork's and Construction Ltd being involved in both Lot 1 and Lot 2, while Bethell Construction Ltd is part of Lot 1 and Millfield Agricultural Services Ltd joins Lot 2. Initially estimated at £400,000 per year with a potential total maximum value of £2,000,000, the contract period officially starts on 1st June 2025, running through until 31st May 2027, and may extend for another two years as needed.

This tender opens significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in infrastructure and surface work solutions. The framework agreement is structured to benefit SMEs, given its open procedure and less restrictive requirements, which could be advantageous for small to medium-sized enterprises. Companies skilled in road and footpath maintenance, including drainage channel installations and surface repair works, would be well-suited to compete, enabling them to secure a sustainable flow of work over a potential four-year period. By engaging in this framework, businesses can establish robust partnerships with a local authority and expand their operations within the public procurement domain, thereby enhancing their market presence and operational capabilities.
