The highway is the only access route to several properties and farms; there is no alternative route for vehicles. The retaining wall suffered flood damage earlier this year resulting in a significant loss of masonry in the area surrounding a private footbridge opposite the property known as 'Royal Oak House'. Another sizeable flood event could pose a significant risk to the highway therefore works are required before we reach the height of the winter period.
