## Summary

The NHS has initiated a procurement process for "Independent Investigation Services for the NHS," which falls under the health services industry category. The buying organisation, East Of England NHS Collaborative Hub, is seeking to establish a framework agreement that allows for independent investigations as mandated by the NHS Serious Incident Framework. This open procurement method enables interested parties to apply for inclusion in the framework, with applications accepted annually, the next round commencing in May 2024. The contract period is set from 1 November 2019 to 31 October 2024, with a value of £15,000,000 for a potential extension. The procurement was published and awarded on 1 November 2019, marking the tender phase as complete, with the underlying requirement for timely and skilled services central to this undertaking.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in independent investigation services, particularly those that can meet the NHS's technical and geographical needs. Companies that are well-placed to compete include small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs) that demonstrate expertise in delivering impartial investigations within the healthcare sector. Firms with a strong background in compliance with regulatory frameworks in health and social care will find this an advantageous situation to expand their client base and engage with a major public sector buyer.
