Collaborating with Centrica and leveraging their experience could provide a competitive advantage in the evolving energy market while helping to shape future residential Direct Load Control initiatives in Cornwall. ## Notice Centrica plc's Cornwall Local Energy Market project (LEM) is a part EU funded pioneering initiative involving the development of a virtual marketplace that will trial providing participants (homes and businesses) with a platform to buy and sell energy and flexibility both to the grid and the wholesale energy market. We will also be installing new generation and energy storage technology, which will allow us to explore how individuals and businesses interact with the technology. The PS19m three year trial is being delivered in partnership with the local distribution network operator Western Power Distribution, alongside National Grid and Exeter University. It is being funded by Centrica and the British Gas Energy for Tomorrow Fund alongside a PS13m grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Centrica wishes to appoint a specialist energy business that can provide expert support for Centrica to deliver Technical Modelling and Analysis for the residential project for the entirety of the programme (until early 2020). The process will include selecting the specific properties for the residential DSR project based on specific knowledge of Cornwall's property profile, actively involved in supporting the procurement of microgeneration and storage technology for residential application, manage and utilise monitoring data collection from all residential properties, modelling of data to inform the project and wider business with different business case scenarios, collaborate with other individuals within the project and wider business. The outcome of this work will assist the project in demonstrating the learning outcomes to the funder and Centrica, along with providing the business case for ongoing residential DSR projects along with insight into potential residential propositions.
