## Summary

The NHS Shared Business Services is overseeing the procurement of a Minor Injuries Unit based at the St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing in London, primarily serving the north of West London. The procurement process is currently at the Award stage, having been completed on 21 January 2018, with a contract value of £2,800,000 set to commence on 1 April 2018 for an initial period of 12 months, with a potential 12-month extension. This procurement follows a Direct Award method to the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, the incumbent service provider, ensuring continuity of essential health services while a new integrated care model is being developed for future procurement in 2019/20.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector organisations (VCSEs). With market engagement scheduled to begin in March 2018, businesses that can offer innovative solutions for integrated care are well-positioned to participate in the forthcoming procurement processes aimed at establishing holistic pathways in health, social care, and mental health. This initiative exemplifies a growing trend towards integrated services in the healthcare sector, creating a fertile ground for businesses looking to expand their influence in public health provision.

## Notice

The delivery of a Minor Injuries Unit based at St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing primarily serving patients in the north of West London CCG. This notice refers to the Direct Award of an interim contract to an incumbent service provider to ensure continuity of essential health services to the local population whilst a new integrated care model is developed during 2018/19 ready for procurement in 2019/20. The contract is for a period of 12 months with the possibility to extend for a further 12 months. At this point, it is not anticipated that the 12 months extension period will be invoked and the CCG aims to procure a new service, as part of a wider integrated care model, to be operational from April 2019. The Contracting Authority has therefore assessed that the incumbent provider is the only capable provider at this time. The Contracting Authority is developing a new model of care within West London which will establish integrated pathways in regard to physical health, social care and mental health, enhanced with voluntary sector involvement to deliver holistic patient care. This interim contract is necessary to enable NHS West London CCG to develop, pilot and validate its specified service requirements. The CCG plans to engage with the market to assist development of its future specification of requirements, with the intention of informing the process and to award substantive contracts for delivery of the new model of care from 2019. Market engagement will commence March 2018.
