CPI is taking an industry-led approach to bring together cutting-edge cross sector expertise, technology and infrastructure, and to provide an environment for innovation which will increase productivity and accelerate the commercialisation of next generation formulated products. Use of sealed sources and x-ray generators for analysis for thickness gauging, density gauging, mass gauging, level gauging measurements is required. The National Healthcare Photonics Centre for (NHPC) is a new CPI building adjacent to, and connected to, the National Formulation Centre. The building is designed specifically for the design and development of healthcare photonic technology, in particular medical devices and in vitro medical devices, as well as other related devices (medtech). As part of the facility the NHPC will be equipped with a radiation suite, consisting of a 6mm thick lead-lined room and an associated control room.
