## Summary

Lancaster University has awarded a contract for the supply, delivery, and installation of a Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) Neuroimaging System. The tender, titled "NIRS Neuroimaging System - AWARD," falls under the industry category of "Installation services of laboratory equipment" (CPV: 51430000). The project involves the procurement of NIRS equipment that can hyperscan up to four participants simultaneously in a naturalistic environment. The contract period begins on 11th November 2024 and ends on 11th November 2025. The awarded supplier is NIRx Medizintechnik GmbH, and the total value of the contract is £300,000. The project is located primarily at Lancaster University, but delivery can extend to various global regions including the British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, and other international destinations.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in advanced neuroimaging technologies and laboratory equipment installation. Companies with expertise in providing mobile and child-friendly neuroscientific tools would be highly suited to compete in such procurement exercises. The project’s open procurement method underscores a transparent and competitive selection process, beneficial for companies aiming to establish or expand their presence in the educational and research sectors. The integration of the NIRS System with other advanced tools like eye tracking and language analysis equipment highlights a sophisticated requirement that could drive further innovation and collaboration within the neuroimaging and educational research markets.

## Notice

The University is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT for the supply, delivery and installation of NIRS for hyperscanning up to four participants simultaneously. A key feature of the equipment will be that it is mobile as it is to be used in a naturalistic environment. The NIRS equipment must fit children from age 6. The NIRS equipment will be installed within a naturalistic research space set up like a primary school classroom as part of a bespoke child-centred auditory neuroscience lab and will be integrated with eye tracking, motion tracking and language analysis.
